Hi there
I hope you are well and looking after yourselves? As you may know, supporting women struggling with mental health issues, is something I am passionate about. Thankfully, World Mental Health Day is tomorrow, October 10th, so it’s a great time to raise awareness of mental health issues. It can act as a stepping stone to encourage people to seek help if they need it. So how can Massage benefit Women’s Mental Health and Wellbeing? Read on to find out more.
For instance, mental health is just as important as physical health. However, it is often overlooked or stigmatised. Moreover, it is important to remember that everyone experiences mental health challenges from time to time. There is no shame in seeking help and there are many things you can do to improve your mental wellbeing.
One way to improve your mental wellbeing is by having a massage. Massage therapy is a complementary therapy that involves the manipulation of soft tissues in the body. We know how it can be used to treat a variety of physical conditions, such as pain, muscle tension, and headaches. However, massage therapy can also have a number of benefits for mental health.
A number of research studies have demonstrated the connection between massage therapy and mental health. For example, a study published in the journal “Complementary Therapies in Medicine” found that massage therapy was effective in reducing anxiety and depression in people with chronic pain. Another study, published in the journal “Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics,” found that massage therapy was effective in reducing stress and improving mood in people with cancer.
The Olive Branch Plymouth provides Natural Therapies. These are specifically designed to improve women’s health and wellbeing. A highly trained and experienced practitioner, providing treatments for a variety of conditions, including stress, anxiety, depression, and insomnia.
Therapies offered include Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Reflexology, Reiki Healing and Indian Head Massage. Also available, specialised massage therapies, such as pre and postnatal massage, oncology massage and fertility massage.
