About me
I love giving Aromatherapy Massages and all the other treatments I have on offer. I’ve always enjoyed the challenge of treating each client to a unique experience. If I am faced with treating a difficult case, I always try to find out everything I can about the client and her condition to enable me to treat them effectively.
After graduating from university with a science degree in 1991 I decided to learn something completely different. So a few months later, I enrolled on a professional course in Massage, Anatomy and Physiology. I have always had an affinity with massage and enjoyed giving my friends and family a shoulder or head massage to help them relax. This course seemed like something I might enjoy and be good at. It is often said that “I am a natural” or “I have healing hands”. (Insert testimonial which says this) I loved the course and I registered as self- employed a few years later and since then I have never looked back. I have trained in various other disciplines since then and now offer a wide selection of Complementary Therapies. I have also completed a 6 month Introduction to counselling and a 1 year Natural Nutrition course.
I try to keep fit and healthy and look after my mental as well as physical wellbeing. In 2021 I completed my first Olympic distance Triathlon and in doing so fundraising for Devon Mind. I’ve now got the bug!
I believe in taking a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. So helping women to improve their own health and wellbeing through self-empowerment is important to me. As women we tend to think about looking after ourselves as something we should feel guilty about. Often we are so dedicated to looking after others that our own health and wellbeing gets forgotten. I want all the women I treat to realise how amazing they are and appreciate their own self-worth. So take time out to relax, unwind, be pampered and enjoy some “me time” because you deserve it!
Some of the highlights have been offering Massage therapy to support women in local communities to help improve their health and wellbeing. I’ve also worked for various charities including The Elder Tree Plymouth offering Indian Head Massage and also as a Complementary Therapist at St Lukes Hospice in Plymouth, Devon. My role was supporting patients that were staying at the hospice. This was a very challenging and rewarding post. I really valued being part of a team of amazing medical and support staff. Our purpose was to enable the patients to have the best quality of life possible. Offering them Complementary Therapy was a humbling experience for me. Fast forward to where I am now. I love my work especially working with such lovely ladies. Being able to offer treatments in this wonderful Garden Studio has been the icing on the cake!
I can't wait to meet you!
Wishing you good health and wellbeing
Helen
